Review Submission

How to Submit an Uncustomary Book Review

You have to love books, they have to speak to you, and you’ve got to believe that you have something worth saying (because if you don’t, who will?!). Once you’ve got those boxes ticked, starting your first Uncustomary Book Review is a simple three-step process.

Step 1
Download your preferred version of the Review Template:

Step 2
Gradually work through it as you read your treasured tome.

Step 3
Once you’re ready to submit your review, simply follow the instructions at the end of the review template. An Uncustomary Book Review Editor will then begin the revision process with you, and once you’re both satisfied that the work is ready for a wider readership, your writing will be featured on the site.

Becoming a Regular

Once you submit three uncustomary reviews, you join the writing team as one of the Uncustomary Reviewers. Your profile gets featured on the site along with the other Uncustomary Reviewers, and you get your very own fruit!

Becoming an Uncustomary Reviewer
There are other benefits to becoming an Uncustomary Reviewer, too. You get exposure as a published writer, develop your portfolio, and you even get to work on a remote team with other writers and editors. Since we work on WordPress, you also get to add some tech skills to your resume and leverage your proficiency using blogging technology and social software.

With each review you submit, you receive editorial feedback and guidance on how to improve your writing. Whether you fumble over dangling participles or chase your sentences down a winding path that leads nowhere, we’ll work on it together.

There’s no limit to what you can accomplish here. So, allow us to extend an invitation to those with a desire to share a passion for reading that spills over many genres, shakes the hands of numerous authors, and fuels the secretly sleepless reader seduced by the temptation of nocturnal literary affairs.

Word of Advice

Don’t start writing your review after you’ve finished reading the book. The Uncustomary Review process is meant to document your journey with your book, so get a notebook and pen and keep it close by when you’re reading. You might just surprise yourself with what you’ll find lying deep within your literary walls.

Happy reviewing!
